Equivalent distributions for CLAS and SAT tests are for math tests based on 35% and 93% pass rates for whites, compared to equivalent percentage of minorities who achieved the same score. Pass / Fail ratio index shows that regardless of whether a test passes 35 percent or 93 percent of whites, the pass / fail ratio remains between 4 and 6 times better for whites than blacks. The only other known standardized test where Asians score as poorly as African Americans is the National Literacy test, which is very culture dependent. In contrast with many other cities, by 1995, no minorities were under-represented in the testing / applicant pool, although Asians were the least represented minority in a field Asians historically have avoided.
