Forgiven, or Put Away From? That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and [their] sins should be forgiven them, Mark 4:12 WHO was NOT to be Forgiven? THE JEWS. The same people who today claim Jesus was a MAMZER! A comparison of the following two verses tells us that there's a difference between "inherit the kingdom of God" and "forgiven unto men", but what do you believe is the difference?
Is it possible that all men shall be forgiven for all sins except blaspheming the spirit, at the same time that all fornicators, idolators, adulterers, effeminate, mamzers, thieves, covetous, drunkards, revilers, and extortioners shall not inherit the kingdom of God? No. The apparent conflict is a mistranslation or misrepresentation of the Greek word "aphiemi" [#863] from which "forgiven" is translated. Consider the following verses which contain the word "aphiemi" which is translated as "leaveth", "leaving", "sent away" and "put away":
Even one with a limited understanding of Greek can see how the English phrases "leave", "sent away", and "put away" could all be translated from the same Greek word "aphiemi", but it would cause any serious student of Scripture heartburn to consider how the same Greek word could mean both "put away" and "forgive", particularly when "forgive" is such an important (and novel) concept to Israelites and their Scripture. But if "forgiven unto men" should actually have been ***put away from***, we no longer have a conflict:
What Jesus is saying, in so many words, [just as Watchman Willie Martin insisted] is that there's only one sin which cannot ever be put away from the House of Israel, not even by God Himself, unless He violates His Own Law, which is mixing the holy seed with the peoples of the land [read: race mixing].
Georgia_Lee: I don't want to disrupt your room again, but you ask where I got the scripture that tells me that there's only one sin that won't be forgiven. It's Matthew 12:31. I'll go for now, but will try to come back in later.
