On Tuesday, the federal government announced that pilots will not be allowed to have
guns in the cockpits of commercial U.S. airplanes.
In the months following the Sept. 11 attacks, government officials, airline executives
and pilots groups debated the topic. Some airlines had said they would allow their pilots
to carry weapons, while other carriers opposed the plan.
Both Transportation Secretary Norman Y. Mineta and Homeland Security Director Tom Ridge
previously indicated their opposition to arming pilots.

Only 16% of those polled agreed with this decision,
which means that the above public servants are traitors, not just to the US Constitution,
to their oaths of office, , to common sense, and to public safety, but to 84% of American
citizens who disagree with their amoral position. This ruling assures that American
airliners will continue to be a favorite target of terrorists, and accomplishes nothing
else other than to provide "job security" for thousands of federal
"security agents". It guarantees a continuation of the draconian security
measures at airports which are worthless compared to the ability of pilots to defend
themselves from terrorists. Any bureaucrat who places federal make work programs
ahead of public safety has lost his right to be paid a salary, much less make vital
security decisions for the country.
