The official monetary base of Japan's central bank as of
July 10, 2003 was 10,276 trillion yen, which was $85.6 trillion at 120 yen to the dollar
and $128.5 trillion at 80 yen to the dollar. This is up by 19.8% from just 10 months
earlier, on September 20, 2002, when it was "only" 8,575 trillion yen.
